Many animated explainer videos today have a flat, 2- dimensional look. This 2D technique works actually well for simplifying concepts or processes. But. sometimes, it's critical to include a third dimension: depth.
It can be difficult to tell the difference between 2D animation and 3D animation. If you truly want to get technical, it's the difference between drawing 2D illustrations and creating 3D models. The typical viewer doesn't care about all of that. They feel in one's bones that 3D appears more advanced and visually richer.
